YEMEN, OMAN SIGN TWO COOPERATION AGREEMENTS

SANA'A, April 22 (Saba)- Yemen and Sultanate of Oman signed here on Thursday two cooperation agreements in the areas of social security and environment protection.

This came during the meetings of the 10 session of the Yemeni-Omani Joint Ministerial Committee held in Sana'a for two days under the chairmanship of the Transport Minister Khalid al-Wazir and the Omani Minister of Transport and Communications Khamis bin Mubarak al-Alawi.

Concluding the 10th session, the two sides signed the minutes of the meetings, which included the agreement to enhance the joint cooperation areas between the two countries in the areas of trade, industry, agriculture, tourism, customs, transport, public works, environment and investment.

It also included cooperation in the field of meteorology, air traffic control through the exchange of information and experiences, and developing a cooperation agreement in the field of search and rescue, and emergency plan and coordination in the implementation of the navigation performance, as well as the activation of cooperation between businessmen in both countries through the Joint Council of Yemeni- Omani Businessmen.

After singing the minutes, the two sides held talks, during which the Omani side affirmed the supportive positions of Omani government and peoples to Yemen's unity, security and stability.

The Yemeni side voiced Yemen's appreciation for the level of the brotherly cooperation between the two countries and the Sultanate's position towards the flood disaster in the eastern provinces of Hadramout and Mahrah as well as its support to the displaced people in Saada and Amran provinces due to the rebellion war.

The two sides stressed the keenness to boost the brotherly cooperation aspects between the two countries in all fields through the practical implementation of the agreements and protocols so as to serve the common aspirations.
