SOUTH KOREA DONATES 3,000 PIANOS TO EDUCATION MINISTRY

PUTRAJAYA, April 23 (Bernama) -- South Korea is donating 3,000 digital
pianos to the Education Ministry in appreciation of the 50 years of harmony in
diplomatic relations with Malaysia.

An agreement on the presentation of the musical instruments was signed here
Friday by the ministry's secretary-general, Dr Zulkurnain Awang, and the
South Korean ambassador to Malaysia, Bong Ryull Yang.

Dr Zulkurnain said the donation, besides being key to enhancing the
potential in the arts, would help step up cooperation in education between the
two countries.

He said Education Minister Muhyiddin Mohd Yassin would set the criteria to
determine the schools to be given the pianos.
