The summit will adopt a declaration titled "Towards a
Green and Happy South Asia," which will focus on problems
related to environment and climate change.
"Pakistan attaches great importance to SAARC and is
committed to the principles and objectives of the SAARC
Charter.
We believe that the SAARC can serve as a platform to
build economic synergies and transform the quality of life of
the peoples of South Asia," the Foreign Office statement said.
Relations between India and Pakistan have been
strained since the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks.
India has linked the resumption of the stalled peace
process between the two sides to action being taken by
Pakistan against the perpetrators of the attacks.
Pakistan has been insisting that the composite
dialogue should be revived without conditions. PTI RHL
