AL-ARHABI PRAISES JAPAN'S SUPPORT FOR YEMENI COASTGUARD



SANA'A, April 25 (Saba) - Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Abdul-Karim al-Arhabi praised here on Sunday the keenness of the Japanese government in promoting the capability of Yemeni Coastguard.

During his meeting with a Japanese delegation of Foreign Ministry and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) headed be Mr. Yukihiro Koizumi, al-Arhabi noted to the incessant development in the Yemeni-Japanese cooperation relations.

The two officials reviewed areas of cooperation between Yemen and Japan as well as means of enhancing them for serving the two countries' joint objectives.

The Minister affirmed Yemen's keenness to develop aspects of bilateral cooperation with Japan in order to serving the joint interests.

Yemen wishes that Japan would play an active role in supporting the government's efforts aiming to providing the financings needed for promoting the coastguard's potentials for enabling it to enhance its abilities fighting terrorism and piracy acts.

In return, Koizumi renewed his country's keenness to provide all support required to establish Yemen's security and stability, affirming the readiness of the Japanese government to enlarge the cooperation with Yemen in area of maritime security.
