YEMEN TO PARTICIPATE IN 31ST SESSION OF AOAD

SANA'A, April 25 ( Saba) - Yemen is to participate in the 31st session of the General Assembly of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development to be held in the Algerian capital, Algiers, on 26-29 April.

Upon his departure, Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation Mansour al-Hawshabi said that the session will discus issues relating to agriculture conditions and the organization action plan for the period 2011- 2012, amending the organization plan and other topics related to joint agricultural work with the Arab Organization.

The plan includes a number of programs such as the emergency one for Arab food security, launched by the Arab summit held in Kuwait on economic and social development in 2009 , and the Arab Program for agricultural and fish training approved by the organization executive council during its session in Marrakech, Morocco, al-Hawshabi said .

The session will moreover review the implementation of the Riyadh Declaration for strengthening pan-Arab cooperation to face the effects of the global financial slump, the level of implementing the organization general assembly's decisions and sustainable development updates for the next two decades.
