PATA LAUNCHES TIGA ONLINE INTELIGENCE SERVICES
KUCHING (Malaysia), April 26 (Bernama) -- The Pacific Asia Travel
Association (PATA) has launched phase 1 of its new TIGA online intelligence
services.
Developed jointly with Creative Advances Technology (CAT), TIGA (Travel
Intelligence Graphic Architecture) offers PATA members and industry subscribers
a new platform for obtaining a wealth of analyses, forecasts and statistics via
the PATA website.
The launch coincides with the opening of the PATA annual meeting and
tourism seminar here, hosted by Tourism Malaysia.
TIGA will, when fully operational, offers a broad spectrum of information
relevant to travel and tourism industry professionals covering international
arrivals data, forecasts, flight frequencies and airline seat availability,
hotel occupancy and revenue statistics, as well as broad economic data.
Users will be able to access TIGA at three levels, namely Basic (available
to everyone), Advanced (available to registered users that are PATA members) and
Premium (for registered users that pay a subscription).
TIGA phase 2 is scheduled for launch at the PATA Travel Mart in September
2010. Phase 3 goes life in the first half of 2011.
PATA chief executive officer Greg Duffel said: "Our new TIGA is an
interactive tool that enables more informed decision-making by travel and
tourism professions."
"It is an integral part of our new-look website and reflects our
determination to add value to our very broad range of membership benefits," he
said at the launch here.
TIGA has emerged from a strategic partnership forged between PATA and CAT to
provide innovative technology support.
Through this partnership CAT, a leading provider of online tourism solutions
has expanded its Standard Online Tourism Architecture (SOTA) technology to
create the Travel Intelligence Graphic Architecture platform.
This partnership seeks to foster the growth of innovative tourism through
technology and collaboration.
CAT chief executive officer, Rohizam Md Yusoff, said the tourism industry
continued to be the fast growing and travel players had to look for ways to be
better equipped and customise their tourism business experience.
"TIGA provides the intelligent information with SOTA technology and we are
delighted to see how the technology may now give real value to its tourism
industry players by having pertinent information at their finger tips 24 hours a
day," he said.
