WE WANT YOU TO KNOW MORE ABOUT MONGOLIA

Music is an important part of Mongolian life. Despite the arrival of electronic music players, this is still so, especially in the countryside. Mongolians sing songs about the environment, the nomadic life, and patriotism.
Mongolian traditional music involves a number of instruments and uses for the human voice found almost nowhere else.

URTIIN DUU
Urtiin duu (long songs) are a form of singing, so called because of the length of trilling on a single note, not for their absolute length, although some are indeed very long.
It is one of the most ancient forms of Mongolian singing, which has been dated back to at least the 13th century. Singing urtiin duu involves extraordinary complicated, drawn out vocal sounds, supposedly evocative of the vast open steppe, and demands great skill in breathing technique. It is usually sung solo, with a particularly wide range that requires great breath control, who must vocalize as long as possible while modulating the sound.
