STATE HEAD MEETS GENERALS

Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ President and Commander-in-Chief of Mongolia's Armed Forces Ts.Elbegdorj received Tuesday military generals on occasion of the Day of Generals.
Mongolia introduced military ranks in the beginning of the 20th century when it was creating a new military structure.
The title of general is bestowed upon the best of the military servicemen who have extraordinary merits of being able to strengthen the country's freedom and independence. The very first awarded the title of general were 11 servicemen. For the time being, the country has 150 generals.
A Major-General S.Baasankhuu, a head of the "Center of Mongolian general" non-governmental organization, thanked the State Head on behalf of all the generals for the audience and wished the President success and achievements. The generals said they are satisfied with the fact that one of the army men has been elected for the first time as the State Head.
"All generations generals, their knowledge, skills, talents and experiences are the big resource to implement successfully the reform of state military policy and to enhance capability of the Armed Forces in participating in peacekeeping operations," Elbegdorj stressed. He wished the generals more achievements, health and happiness.
