FINNISH PM MAKES TWO-DAY WORKING VISIT WEDNESDAY

KUALA LUMPUR, April 27 (Bernama) -- Finnish Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen
begins a two-day working visit to Malaysia Wednesday to enhance bilateral
relations.

The visit was expected to provide an opportunity in reinvigorating bilateral
ties and facilitate the expansion of cooperation in new areas such as
innovation, information communication technology and green technology, Wisma
Putra said in a statement here Tuesday.

Vanhanen will meet Prime Minister Najib Razak who will also host a dinner
for him.

The two leaders are expected to discuss ways to improve bilateral ties and
exchange views on regional and international issues.

Vanhanen will also meet members of the National Economic Advisory Council
and discuss Malaysia's New Economic Model which was unveiled by Najib last
month.

Bilateral trade between Malaysia and Finland last year totalled RM614.9
million (US$180.85 million) comprising Malaysian exports of RM446.3 million
(US$131.26 million) and RM168.6 million (US$49.58 million) imports.
