PARLIAMENT CONDEMNS MONDAY FAILED TERROR ATTACK
SANA'A, April 27 (Saba)-Parliament condemned on Tuesday the failed
terror attack which targeted convoy of the British ambassador in
Sana'a.
In its statement, the presidential board of the parliament said that
such terror attack rejected by Islamic teachings and Yemeni moral
values, saying that the attack would not harm friendly relationship
between Yemen and United Kingdom.
The statement also pointed out to the efforts of Yemen in combating
terrorism though support of the international community and lovers
of peace and development in the world.
The parliament asked the security apparatuses to take hard actions
against terrorists and who plots and funds such criminal acts.
Yemen's interior ministry said the UK ambassador to Yemen Tim
Torlot and his escorts survived the failed attack, which was taken
place in Sana'a on Monday.
The ministry reported the suicide bomber, wearing a sport suit,
detonated an explosives belt at the ambassador's convoy at the
Berlin Park in Noqum district of Sana'a. ''The attack bore al-Qaeda
hallmarks and an investigation is underway'', it added.
