Largest printing house opens
VIENTIANE,27 APRIL (KPL) - The largest printing house Lao Uniprint Press was opened on Monday at Wattay Yai Thong village, Sikhottabong district, Vientiane Capital.
“We have invested around US$1 million in the construction of the printing house and equipping it with cutting-edge printing machines from Japan,” said Managing Director of the Lao Uniprint Press, Mr. Phouthakone Bouphasvanh.
The printing house is a joint venture investment by three Lao businessmen.
“Our printing house can do the four-colour printing at a time of books, magazines, newspapers, posters, calendars and brochures,” said Mr. Phouthakone.
“The printing house can print a very huge amount of documents for large organisations like the Ministry of Education and the United Nations Children’s Fund – UNICEF,” added Mr. Phouthakone.
This will provide local customers an access to cheap printing service with international standard, according to Mr. Phouthakone. “It will help reduce the import of illegally printed products from neighbouring countries by approximately 50 per cent.”
“The new printing house also plans to buy another printing machine worth USD 3 million, in a couple of years to ensure its better service,” said Mr. Phouthakone.
