Yemeni Society partakes in Arab Media and Family Conference in Doha
SAYON, April 28
(Saba) - Al-Nahdha Society of Hadramout Valley is to partake in the Arab Media and
Family
Conference to be held in the Qatari capital ,Doha, during next May 1-2.
Head of the al-Nahdha Society Abdurahman al-Saqqaf told Saba that this conference,
co-organized by Doha International Institute for Family Studies and Development
(DIIFSD)
and the Arab Council for Childhood and Development in partnership with the Supreme
Education Council of Qatar and the Qatar Society for Rehabilitation of Special
Needs, would
be held under the theme" Towards a new roles for the family media".
Al-Saqqaf pointed out that the Society would participate in the conference with a
presentation on its activities in the field of family awareness and its health,
educational
and economic programs especially small generating-income enterprises.
The two-day conference will tackle a number of issues, including media,
globalization and children in the Arab world, and the role of media in shaping
social trends, al-Saqqaf
indicated.
Several organizations will also present their experiences with the media,
including the Qatar Organization to Combat Human Trafficking, the "Be Free" Centre
from Bahrain,
and the Yemen-based Al Nahda Society.
The conference will be accompanied by a number of workshops including one for media
professionals on protecting children from violence and another for schoolchildren
on
managing private information on the Internet.
The attendees include Arab League of States, UNICEF, the Arab Bureau of Education
for the Gulf States, as well as the International Federation of Family Planning and
a number
of experts and organizations from 13 Arab countries.
