YEMEN ELECTED AS MEMBER IN AOAD EXECUTIVE COUNCIL

SANA'A, May 02 (Saba) - Yemen has elected as a member of the executive council of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD).

The statement was made by the Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation Mansour al-Hawshabi upon his arrival home after his participation in the 31st session of the General Assembly of the AOAD held in Algeria.

Al-Hawshabi added that the council also elected Dr. Ahmed Abdul-Wali al-Samawi as a deputy of AOAD director general.

He said that the meeting has discussed issues, topped by the organization's action plan for 2010 – 2011 and following up the implementation of the agricultural development strategy in Arab world and the emergency program of Arab Food Security for 2010-2015.
