PRESIDENT IN INNER MONGOLIA
Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ Paying a state visit to the People's Republic of China (PRC), Mongolia's President Ts.Elbegdorj visited Monday the Chinese Inner Mongolian Autonomous Region.
During the stay there, the State Head met Hu Chunhua, the Communist Party Secretary of the Inner Mongolia, visited University of Inner Mongolia, attended a meeting of Mongolian and local businessmen and got au fait with “Vistas” factory.
Mr Chunhua briefly introduced Inner Mongolia to Mongolia's President. He said their autonomous region is engaged in "great construction costing CNY 60 billion in frames of a new policy of China's government and policy of industry". He thanked Mongolia's President for visiting their region and expressed a willingness to develop intensively the ties between their region and Mongolia in economic, commerce, culture, education and humanitarian sectors.
“We are constructing railways, roads for trucks and high-speed highways. The latter are constructed in routes of Beijing-Hohhot and Hohhot-Shenyang. These roads will significantly contribute to increasing the trade turnover between the countries,” Chunhua said.
Mr Elbegdorj proposed developing Mongolia-China relations. He emphasized that a size of trade turnover between the two countries has increased 20 times in the last ten years where Inner Mongolia accounts 80 per cent.
The State Head underlined a requirement to make certain negotiations on transit transport issues, and requested the Chinese side to support Mongolia in preparing professionals for infrastructure and mining sectors.
Mr Elbegdorj emphasized an importance of expanding activities of border checkpoints and opening Mongolian cultural centers in Beijing and Hohhot cities in a scope of an agreement on cultural relations between the countries.
Attendees of the meeting shared views on manufacturing mining and agricultural final products, developing tourism sector and combating desertification and other natural disasters.
The same day, Mr Elbegdorj gave a speech at opening of a meeting of the Mongolian and the region's businessmen. Then he visited the School of Mongolian Studies at the University of Inner Mongolia.
