YEMEN, WB, UNFPA REVIEW FUTURE PROJECTS IN YEMEN



SANA'A, May 05 (Saba) - Yemen, World Bank (WB) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) reviewed here on Wednesday the future projects planned to be carried out here in Yemen.

Minister of Public Health and Population Abdul-Karim Rase'a, WB delegation head Alaa Eldin Hamed and UNFPA head Maha El-Adawy discussed the projects the WB and UNFPA intend to implement in sectors of population, primary health care and planning with a cost of $ 15 million by the WB and $ 3.5 million by the UNFPA.

The meeting also discussed the work progress of the under-construction health and population project in 2010, which is funded by the WB with a cost of over YR 700 million.

The Minister noted to the partnership and distinctive cooperation relations between Yemen, WB and UNFPA.

On the other hand, Rase'a held talks with the Swiss Locarno Hospital director Mirlini Luka over the possibility of twinning Khaldon Hospital in Hajjah province and Locarno Hospital.

The twinning of the hospitals aims to improve health services in the emergency room and extensive care department as well as to enhance the medical services quality in Khaldon hospital.
