EU reiterates readiness to assist Yemeni security bodies

SANA'A, May 05 (Saba) -
European Union (EU) reiterated on Wednesday readiness to present more assistance to
the Yemeni
security apparatuses, especially in coastguard area.
The statement made by EU delegation visiting Yemen currently to consider the needs
of the Yemeni coastguard forces during its meeting with the Interior Minister
Mutahar
al-Masri.
The delegation said that EU is ready to reinforce the capacity of the Yemeni
coastguards to maintain the country's regional waters, international shipping
routes and combating
marine pricy.
The EU officials, who have paid a field visit to the coastguard forces, applauded
the role the Yemeni coastguard plays in fighting against piracy in the Gulf of Aden
and
Arab Sea and secure the international shipping routes.
The delegation briefed the minister on the EU report on the partnership projects
between Yemen and EU in this regarded, and the implemented projects as well.
Al-Masri accentuated the ministry's keenness to present all facilities to succeed
the EU's projects in Yemen, valuing the EU's assistance to the Yemeni security
bodies and
its aid for the conflict-affected people in Saada and Harf Sufyan.
