YEMEN OIL REVENUES SET RECORD IN 2010 1ST QTR



SANA'A, May 06 (Saba) - Yemen's oil revenues in the first quarter of 2010 has set a record registering $ 665 million compared to $ 254 million in the same period of 2009.

A report issued by the Central Bank of Yemen (CBY) attributed the improvement to the increase of the Yemeni share of oil exports, which has jumped from 5,900,000 barrels in the first quarter last year to 8,570,000 barrels in 2010.

The price average in January-April 2010 has reached $77.63 per barrel, while it was $43 in 2009, according to the report.

The report also showed a decline in the local consumption in the same period, which has dropped to 5,440,000 barrels in 2010 compared to 6,190,000 ones in 2009.
