MALAYSIAN PM NAJIB MAKES FIRST OFFICIAL VISIT TO CAMBODIA FROM MAY 9-11
KUALA LUMPUR, May 7 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak will make an official three-day visit to Cambodia from Sunday, his first trip there since taking office in April last year.
Najib will be accompanied by his wife, Rosmah Mansor, and a
45-member delegation including businessmen and the media, said a Wisma Putra
(Foreign Ministry) statement Thursday.
"The visit illustrates Malaysia's commitment to actively engage Cambodia in
dialogues and discussions as a means to broaden and deepen the existing
cooperation between both countries and pave ways to explore other potential
areas for future cooperation," it added.
It would also provide an opportunity for Najib to exchange views and achieve
closer understanding on issues of mutual interests with Cambodian leaders.
Najib is scheduled to have an audience with King Norodom Sihamoni at the
Royal Palace in Phnom Penh and meet with his Cambodian counterpart, Hun Sen.
Najib will also address a business luncheon of the Malaysian-Cambodian
Business Forum and have a meeting and dialogue with Malaysian investors and
businessmen.
He is also expected to visit a Malaysian company in the Cambodian capital
before returning to Malaysia on May 11.
