Bolivian President praises Yemen chairing of Group of 77 and China
NEW YORK, May 08
(Saba) - Bolivian President Evo Morales hailed on Saturday the success of Yemen in
chairing
the Group of 77 and China.
This speech was delivered during Morales' meeting with the Permanent Representative
of Yemen to the United Nations Abdullah M. Alsaidi at the group headquarters in New
York.
The President praised the Yemeni role in chairing the group's activities at the
time where the world witnesses a number of challenges such as the financial crisis,
food
security and the climate exchanges.
He asked the Yemeni diplomat to convey his regards to the Yemeni President Ali
Abdullah Saleh.
Alsaidi accompanied Morales to a special meeting for the Group of 77 and China,
reviewing the results of the Global Popular Congress on climate change, security of
land
rights which hosted in Bolivia last month within the framework Convention on Climate
Change (UNFCCC.) It is worth to be mentioned that Yemen was unanimously elected for
the
chairmanship of the Group of 77 and China for 2010.
