Nation-wide demo by BJP on May 12 against ``misuse`` of CBI

New Delhi, May 8 (PTI) BJP will hold demonstrations in
state capitals across India on May 12 against "misuse"
of CBI by the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA)
government.
"Our state unit leaders will hold demonstrations in state
capitals on May 12 against misuse of CBI by the government to
garner support for cut-motions in Lok Sabha and arrest of
police officers in Gujarat in the Sohrabuddin encounter case,
which is very demoralising for the police," a senior BJP
leader said.
A delegation of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs had
submitted a memorandum to President Pratibha Patil Friday
alleging that the government was misusing CBI against
opposition leaders and shielding its own leaders.
Earlier, on May 6 these MPs had held a demonstration
inside Parliament House complex on the issue.
The main opposition alleged that at the behest of the
government, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) was
going slow in the disproportionate assets cases against
Samajwadi Party (SP) Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, Rashtriya
Janata Dal (RJD) leader Lalu Prasad and Bahujan Samaj Party
(BSP) supremo Mayawati in lieu of their support. PTI
