First street children survey launched in Yemen

SANA'A, May 09 (Saba) - Yemen in
collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO) have launched the
first comprehensive
field survey of street children across the country. The survey aims at establishing
a database over the size of the street children phenomenon which has in the last few
years
witnessed an increase due to the economic situation and expanding poverty. Executive
Director of the survey, being implemented by the Central Organization for
Statistics,
Ahmed Salem Al-Bashiri said field teams comprising of 315 researchers have already
started paying field visits to governorates to collection information from the
families
about street and working children. MD/FR
