Yemen urges CSOs to be careful while reporting on human rights

SANA'A, May 09 (Saba)
- Human Rights Minister Huda al-Ban has urged the Civil Society Organizations to
bear
sense of responsibility and be careful while presenting reports to the U.N. Human
Rights Council and foreign rights organizations.
Landing in the country after participation in the session of the Committee Against
Torture (CAT) in Geneva, al-Ban said that Yemen is concerned with human rights and
committed
to their promotion and protection.
She also pointed out that anyone commits any form of psychological or physical
torture will be punished under the Yemeni law.
She added: if any cases of torture happen in the country, the individuals who
commit them must be blamed but not the government because such acts never refer to
the government.
