OPTIMUM iT SET UP A MANUFACTURING PLANT IN GUANGQING

GuangQing May 10 (Bernama) -- Optimum iT Sdn Bhd, which established a
joint-venture plant recently with a local partner to manufacture 1M Taiyuan, an
automobile automatic collision avoidance system (AACAS) hopes to export the
product to Malaysia by year-end.
The company which begun production of 1M Taiyuan, a month ago, will begin
exporting the product when output accumulates to 100,000 sets.
Director, Corporate Communication of Optimum iT, Yantie Ismail said the
50:50 joint venture plant in GuangQing presently would produce 10,000 sets,
monthly, at its 2,000 sq meter factory by June.
She said Optimum has been awarded the rights to market 1M Taiyuan AACAS, as
a Made-In-Malaysia product, in Malaysia.
Beijing Taiyuan, founded by Liu Taiyuan owns 10 research centers, 2
assemble centers, 1 radar manufacturing factory and 5 parts manufacturing plants
in China.
She said besides Malaysia, Optimum iT has also received enquiries from
Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Philiphines as well as the Middle East to
market the products.
The company will be made the marketing and distribution hub for Malaysia and
foreign countries and is currently working closely with locals distributors and
marketing agents.
1M Taiyuan AACAS is a high-tech integrated system, which can execute
auto-alarm, auto deceleration and auto-brakes on moving vehicle in order to
avoid accidents or crash.
"This product is an intelligent solution that offers extra protection for
any moving vehicle in addition to traditional safety systems," Yantie told
Bernama during a visit to its plant here Monday.
Also present during the visit was Taiyuan Beijing Director, Liu Taiyuan and
Optimum iT Business Development Director Charlie YG Chan.
"We aim to produce about 200 thousand sets of IM Taiyuan product in the
first year," according to Liu who is a prominent scientist in China.
The company aims to boost its sales to 800 thousand units in the fifth year,
he said.
