PANTAI ENGAGES ECLIPSYS, REVERE TECHNOLOGIES TO IMPROVE HEALTHCARE DELIVERY

KUALA LUMPUR, May 10 (Bernama) -- Pantai Holdings Bhd has appointed Eclipsys
International and Revere Technologies Sdn Bhd as technology partners to
create a world-class care delivery infrastructure.

Eclipsys and Revere Technologies will act as the Complete Hospital and
Records Management System (CHARMS) project implementation provider for the
Hospital Information System and the Oracle Financial Enterprice Resource
Planning solution for all Pantai's 10 hospitals in Malaysia.

CHARMS is an essential component of Pantai's rebranding exercise that
started last year to position the group at the forefront of healthcare delivery.

Pantai Chairman Mohamed Khatib Abdul Hamid said: "The CHARMS
architecture as a centralised foundation technically enables Pantai to
standardise our processes that will address the complexity of our large
hospitals and improve the standards of our small hospitals."

Full implementation of the CHARMS project will take place in phases over
the next 36 months.

Speaking at a signing ceremony involving the three companies here Monday,
Mohamed Khatib said phase one of the project would involve Pantai's two leading
tertiary care hospitals, namely Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur and Gleneagles
Hospital Kuala Lumpur, which was expected to be ready by November 2012.

"The gradual implementation of the CHARMS project will result in increased
speed of patient data access, reduced inpatient admission time, reduced
discharge time, improved turnaround times for lab and imagining results,
improved clinical quality through the use of targeted alerts for drug
interactions, allergies, duplicate orders -- to name a few," he said.

Established in 1974, Pantai Group has a total of 1,500 beds with over
100,000 admissions a year. Its hospital network covers Penang, Perak, Kedah,
Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Melaka and Johor.
