MSIA TO HOST WORLD ISLAMIC ECONOMIC FORUM

KUALA LUMPUR, May 10 (Bernama) -- Malaysia will host the 6th World Islamic
Economic Forum (WIEF) over three days from May 18.

WIEF Chairman Musa Hitam said the event functions as a means to bring
together through business, global economies of Muslims and non-Muslims under a
single platform.

"The WIEF also allows for dialogue on matters related to the Muslim world to
be addressed on a global frontier.

"We are expecting about 2,000 attendees and the forum will be touching on
solutions to provide clean water, managing climate change and educating the
masses and others," he said in a statement Monday.

He also said everybody is embracing the Islamic banking and finance industry
and this is also a key instrument towards bridging the muslim and non-muslim
world.
