YEMEN, EU IN TALKS OVER INVESTMENT CLIMATE IMPROVEMENT

SANA'A, May 11 ( Saba) - Chairman of the Board of Directors of the
Commerce and Industry Chamber in the Secretariat Capital Hassan
al-Kabous has met with European Union expert Bruce Hood and expert
of local development and external relations Jamal al-Awadhi.

The meeting focused on a number of topics related to improving the
business environment and legislative and judicial obstacles facing
it.

Al-Kabous stressed the importance of engaging the private sector in
establishing investment legislation and coordination between the
public and private sectors and the European Union to streamline laws
that facilitie investing in the country.

He, moreover, reviewed the vision with which the private sector
seeks to increase investments as well as establishing a real
partnership with European companies to improve investment climate in
Yemen.

For his part, Hood underlined the significant role the private
sector plays to improve the investment climate in Yemen, stressing
the importance of engaging it in legislative and economic systems.
