Over 150 victims of human organs trafficking: Interior Ministry
SANA'A, May 11
(Saba) - Interior Ministry has revealed that about 157 Yemenis were victims of human
organs
trafficking.
The investigation department head Abu-Baker Saeed said that investigations showed
that the crimes have been taken place outside the country.
Saeed also said that some Yemenis have sold their own corneas through Egyptian and
Jordanian brokers.
The investigation department has intensifies procedures to monitor such crimes
Saeed said, adding that a Jordanian has been caught at Sana'a airport on his way to
Egypt
with seven Yemenis to sell their kidneys.
The department has presented a memorandum to the Interpol through the Foreign
Ministry to launch a hunt for 18 foreigners involved in trafficking in human organs
in Yemen.
