GERMANY OFFERS € 7 MLN TO REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH PROJECT IN YEMEN



SANA'A, May 12 (Saba) –The German government represented by German Construction Bank and Yemen signed here on Wednesday an agreement of grant for financing the reproductive health project at a total cost of € 7 million.

The grant amount would be devoted to financing the implementation of activities relating to the cards system of the family health and safe motherhood through the Ministry of Public Health and Population and its offices in all provinces of the country.

The agreement was signed by Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Abdul Karim al-Arhabi and for the German Bank the Country Director for North Africa, Middle East and Yemen.

After signing the agreement, al-Arhabi lauded the contributions of the German Bank in supporting the development efforts in Yemen, affirming the Yemeni government's keenness to boost the current and future cooperation with the bank.

Al-Arhabi held a meeting with the Country Director of the German Bank before signing the agreement and reviewed aspects of the current cooperation between Yemen and the bank and means of developing them to serve the common goals.

The two sides also dealt with the progress in the implementation of the German Construction Bank's projects in Saada province and Ja'ar and Zonjobar districts of Abyan province and al-Shiher in Hadramout province, as well as the underway preparations for convening the meetings of the Yemeni-German official consultations, scheduled to be held in Sana'a during the coming period.
