INT'L ORGANIZATIONS EFFORTS TO IDPS IN AMRAN REVIEWED

AMRAN, May 12 (Saba) - Yemen and the humanitarian relief organizations reviewed here on Wednesday the efforts the organizations made for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Amran province.

Amran Undersecretary Saleh Abu al-Awja'a reviewed with organizations' representatives the efforts exerted since the beginning of 2010 by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), World Food Programme (WFP), UNICEF, Islamic Relief, Doctor without Borders, Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and Oxfam.

Abu al-Awja'a and the organizations' representatives discussed the distribution of the relief and sheltering materials to about 53,000 IDPs from Harf Sufyan and Saada province.

Abu al-Awja'a affirmed the full cooperation of the province leadership with the organizations and providing the required protection fro them, calling on the organizations to offer more aid to assist in handling the humanitarian situation in Harf Sufyan.
