YEMEN ATTENDING CACF MINISTERIAL CONFERENCE
TIANJIN, May 13 (Saba) – Yemen is taking part in the Fourth Ministerial Conference of the China-Arab Cooperation Forum CACF that started on Thursday in the Chinese city of Tianjin.
Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi is leading the Yemeni delegation at the two-day meeting attended by Chairman of the State Council of China Wen Jiabao and the Arab League Secretary Amr Moussa as well as Arab and Chinese Foreign Ministers.
At the opening, Jiabo delivered a speech pointing to cooperation between his country and the Arab countries as well as ways to boost strategic partnership, mainly in the economic, cultural and media areas.
He called for promoting the dialog among civilizations and establishing international relations according to the principles of equality and mutual respect as well as working together to face challenges posed by climate change.
The world should focus on dialog and peaceful means to resolve all problems, Jiabo said, condemning all forms of terrorism and rejecting linking this global phenomenon to a specific religion or country.
Moussa also delivered a speech underlining Arab-Chinese cooperation since the foundation of the forum and the significance of the Chinese role in international affairs and achieving balance of international relations.
During the current round of the forum, strategic Arab-Chinese relations would be announced as the two sides have a common vision to have an effective cooperation, he said.
At the margins of the meeting, al-Qirbi will meet with a number of his counterparts and delegations to discuss mutual cooperation with each country of them.
