JAPANESE NATIONAL ON WORLD-WIDE BICYCLE TRAVEL ARRIVES IN PENANG




PENANG (Malaysia), May 14 (Bernama) -- A Japanese national cyclist, Ryohei
Oguchi, 29, to fulfill his dream of going around the world has arrived in this
northern state after going through five countries.

Oguchi, who works as a financial advisor in Japan, began his journey in 2007
and has travelled in Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Singapore before
arriving here.

According to Ryohei, his desire to cycle and see the world was developed
when he was still in school and he had to save for four years for the adventure.

The gradguate of Tokyo University expects to complete his world-wide journey
by 2015.

By then he would have covered 100 countries before returning home.

"I cycle for between 100 and 150km each day for seven and 10 hours", said
Ryohei.

He said at each stop he will set up a camp to rest for the night.

Ryohei said his purpose to traverse the world was to see for himself the
lifestyles, cultures, foods, the sights and community habits of countries.

He will be in Malaysia for two weeks and said the Malaysians were unique for
their multi-racial community, tolerance and care.
