NA members asks government to increase budget for rural development

(KPL) The fifth ordinary session of the National Assembly on its third day of work, continued the discussion on the government's report on social-economic development and other reports from major organisations.

During the session, some NA members from different constituencies have asked the government to increase the budget for social-economic developmentactivities, especially in the rural and remote areas.

Mr Phouvieng Saithammavong, NA member from the constituency 14 of Saravane province, has said that his province faced with many challenges, especially the infrastructure development. He said his province has not enough fund to develop and improve its transportation and communication systems,particularly in the remote areas of Toumlane and Samouai districts.

An NA member from the 16th constituency of Sekong province has asked the government to allocate more fund to support the road construction from the provincial capital of Sekong to Dakchueng district and from Dakchueng to border areas of Vietnam. He said that the electrification to Dakchueng is anurgent task badly required by local people.

An NA member from the 13th constituency of Savannakhet province has proposed the government to improve the mechanisms for investment, educationdevelopment, human resource development and solving the unemployment issues.
