Deputy FM lectures on Yemen challenges in Washington

WASHINGTON, May 15 (Saba) -
First Deputy Foreign Minister Mohyee al-Din al-Dhabbi has lectured on challenges
facing Yemen
at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in Washington. He reviewed
economic, political and judicial reforms the government is working on. Moreover, he
briefed the
audience, including diplomats, journalists and U.S. officials interested in Yemen's
affairs, on the government priorities for the next period, highlighting the efforts
made
to activate the outcomes of meetings with Friends of Yemen Group. The lecture also
dealt with issues related to the Yemeni-U.S. ties and partnership. In this regard,
al-Dhabbi
reiterated Yemen's commitment to the war against terrorism and extremism which form
a direct threat to national and regional security. The lecture arranged by the
Culture
Attaché at the Yemeni Embassy in Washington came within the efforts aimed at
straightening out misconceptions circulated by researchers and media over Yemen's
view towards
crucial issues and major obstacles in the country. FR
