Yemen, U.S. in talks

WASHINGTON, May 15 (Saba) - First Deputy Foreign Minister
Mohyee al-Din al-Dhabbi has held talks with Senior Director on Iran, Iraq and Gulf
Gulf States
at the U.S. National Security y Council Puneet Talwar that focused on ways of
boosting the bilateral relationship and mutual cooperation in all areas. The two
also discussed
the joint counterterrorism efforts and exchanged viewpoints over ways to develop of
the vision of Friends of Yemen Group touching upon achievements the group has made
since
it was announced early this year. Al-Dhabbi stressed the importance of coordination
among the group members and other concerned parties to speed implementing the duties
of
the group. For his part, Talwar praised Yemen's counterterrorism efforts, pointing
out that Yemen is an active ally in the war against terrorism. He also voiced his
country's
interest in developing its ties and partnership with Yemen, touching upon economic
and political reforms in the country. FR
