PREMIER WORKS IN SOUMS OF TOV AIMAG


Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ A Prime Minister S.Batbold worked May 16 in Tov aimag's Bornuur and Jargalant soums in order to get acquainted with a course of the spring sowing.
Mr Batbold got au fait with a present situation of irrigation system dam and water distribution ditches in Bornuur and Jargalant soums. Then he visited farming lands owned by the “Altankhoshig”, “Undrakh shar bulag”, “Khokh bayan bulag” LLCs and “Sav” cooperatives. He told farmers that the state will "intensively support land farmers who srtive to introduce new standards, management and technologies".
It is expected that size of farming lands and of harvest from one hectare will increase when irrigation system is put into use. This year, Bornuur soum plans to sow grain on 1,220 hectares, potatoes on 650 hectares and vegetables on 450 hectares. As of today, the soum has planted wheat on 450 hectares and potatoes and vegetables on 260 hectares.
Officials led by the Premier visited a greenhouse farm in Bornuur, which has direct ties with Gangwon province of the Republic of Korea. The Korean side established in 2004 ten greenhouses with a comprehensive irrigation system. In them 16 kinds of vegetables are planted and 17.5 tons of vegs are harvested a year. The Premier ordered the Agricultural Minister to organize an introduction of the methods and experience of the greenhouses in other aimags and their soums.
After visiting the greenhouses, the Premier got au fait with the course of spring sowing in the “Altan khoshig” and “Undrakh shar bulag” LLCs. These companies were established in 1999 engaging in land farming, animal husbandry and external and domestic trade.
The “Altan khoshig” LLC possesses 50 hectares of area and has Japan-made tractors, combine harvesters, seed drills, potato assorting engines and other facilities for harvesting potatoes. This company employs some 70 people from Bornuur soum. According to the company's director T.Baldangombo, it supplies 30-40 tons potatoes to the city a year.
The “Undrakh shar bulag” LLC possesses 20 hectares and facilities made in Russia. It employs over 40 people. In 2008, this company started to sow potatoes of Holland and Germany sorts in frames of the “Mongolian potatoes” program. Every year, potatoes are planted on 10-15 hectares and 30-40 tons of potatoes are supplied to the city a year.
In Jargalant soum, the Prime Minister visited the “Khokh bayanbulag” LLC and the “Sav” cooperative. There Batbold granted a greenhouse of 120 square meters with an irrigation system to these enterprisers.
After his works in rural areas, the Premier expressed his satisfaction with the sowing.
