EU, Vietnam boast agricultural cooperation potential
Hanoi (VNA) - French Ambassador to Vietnam Herve Bolot says the European Union (EU) and Vietnam have a lot of potential for future cooperation in agriculture.
Bolot told reporters on July 11 that agriculture is France 's priority in addition to energy/climate, immigration issues and national defence when the nation holds the rotating EU Presidency from July 1-December 31, 2008.
Apart from its help in law making and policy adjustment in line with the World Trade Organisation's (WTO) regulations, EU will support Vietnam's efforts to develop world safety standards for agricultural products, he said.
The diplomat revealed that EU-Vietnam agricultural cooperation could also cover irrigation and organic agricultural development, as well as purification of water areas.
