UNICEF country program in Yemen discussed

SANA'A, May 17 (Saba) - Yemen and UNICEF discussed here on Monday cooperation aspects related to mechanism of implementing the UNICEF
country program in Yemen.

During his meeting with the newly-appointed representative of UNICEF in Yemen Geert
Cappelaere, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Abdul-Karim
al-Arhabi
affirmed Yemen's keenness to provide all the required facilities to ease carrying
out his tasks.
The two sides also talked about means of activating the contribution of
non-governmental organizations in order to prop up the Yemen-UNICEF joint efforts
to reduce the problem
of children malnutrition in Yemen.
Al-Arhabi briefed Cappelaere on the current arrangements for preparing the fourth
five-year plan, affirming that the government has paid much attention to enhance
the efforts
relating to motherhood and childhood welfare in Yemen.
For his part, the UNICEF official affirmed his keenness to contribute to promote
the cooperation level between Yemen and UNICEF.
