SUSILO TO DISCUSS ISSUES OF MUTUAL INTEREST WITH NAJIB TUESDAY
KUALA LUMPUR, May 18 (Bernama) -- Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will attend the Seventh Annual Consultation with Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak Tuesday to discuss issues of mutual interest.
Susilo will be accompanied by his wife, Ani Yudhoyono, Minister of Foreign
Affairs, Marty Natalegawa, cabinet ministers, senior government officials and
journalists.
Najib is scheduled to have a restricted meeting with Susilo to discuss
bilateral issues to further strengthen friendship and two-way cooperation
between Malaysia and Indonesia, said the Foreign Ministry in a statement.
Bilateral relations at all levels between Malaysia and Indonesia have
always been close and warm, it said.
It said both countries have been cooperating closely in diverse fields such
as in trade, investment, education, defence, cultural and security through
various working groups such as the Joint Commission Meeting and
Malaysia-Indonesia Socio-Economic Working Committee.
The friendly neighbours have established bilateral mechanisms such as the
Annual Consultation which have helped enhance collaborations between them, it
said.
Susilo will also attend the Sixth World Islamic Economic Forum in Kuala
Lumpur on Wednesday before departing for Jakarta late afternoon.
