Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Russian Federation D.Idevkhten met Monday with Mrs Ye.B.Skrynnik, a Minister of Agriculture of Russia. The dignitaries shared views on some issues.
Mrs Skrynnik requested S.L.Levin, a director-general of “United Company of Grain” Joint Stock Venture, to give a report on how transported and delivered a relief wheat Russia has given to Mongolia as humanitarian aid.
Levin said the wheat is being delivered to seven train stations of Mongolia from 26 warehouses of the Siberian district. As of today, 65 per cent of the total goods or 31 thousand tons wheat in 528 carriages has been delivered. Remaining 411 carriages will be delivered to Mongolia within June 3 this year.
The Ambassador underlined that the relief wheat from Russia will significantly contribute to abolishing consequences of zud disaster in Mongolia, and thanked Mrs Skrynnik for the assistance and her personal attention to this matter.
Mr Idevkhten mentioned about some measures to be taken in 2010 between the two countries and expressed a hope that Russia's Agricultural Ministry will actively participate in these works. He requested Mrs Skrynnik to support in increasing an import of Mongolian meat and meat products to Russia, to co-implement a project of improving veterinary service in Mongolia and to simplify terms of a soft-loan to be granted from Russia to Mongolia's agricultural sector.
Mrs Skrynnik expressed her satisfaction with widening of the bilateral relations and cooperation. She said Russia intends to decrease a size of meat imported. “But we are ready to import meat and meat products from Mongolia if their quality meets standards,” she said.
Present at the meeting were B.Erdenebileg, an advisor to the Ambassador on Trade and Economics, B.Chimedtseren, a first secretary of Mongolia's Embassy; O.Askenov and K.Kolonchin, department heads of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture and others.
