PRESIDENT GREETS INT'L CONFERENCE ON HUMAN RIGHTS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ President Ts.Elbegdorj has sent his greetings to the 5th International Conference of Justice Ministers titled "From Moratorium to Full Abolition: No Justice Without Life" which kicked off Monday in Rome, Italy. His greetings were delivered by Mrs Sosormaa, an advisor to the President on Human Rights and Civil Participation.
The conference is hosted by Sant Egidio International Organization to abolish capital punishment. Speeches were given at the opening by Gianfranco Fini, president of the Italian Chamber of Deputies, and by Giovanni Alemanno, Mayor of Rome.
At the conference, the President of Sant Egidio M.Impagliazzo, who chaired the conference, noted with pride and congratulated Mongolia for its becoming the first country in 2010 to declare moratorium on capital punishment.
Present at the conference are Ministers of Justice, Human Rights Commissioners, Prosecutors-General, Chiefs Justice and government officials from 34 countries.
