1MALAYSIA CONCEPT ON TRACK TO RESOLVE CONFLICTS: PROFESSOR

KUALA LUMPUR, May 21 (Bernama) -- The 1Malaysia concept of Prime Minister Najib
Razak was on the right track in resolving conflicts in the country, said Prof
Datuk Dr Abdullah Abdul Rahman.

The adjunct professor of Razak School of Government (RSoG), Universiti Tun Abdul
Razak (UniRazak) described the concept as a positive move taken during Najib's
one-year leadership as prime minister.

"He has vision. He communicates with the vision. He wants to implement the
vision. I think he is willing to resolve all conflicts because when we carry out
our duties, we come across many conflicts. The recent one is the global economic
crisis," he said.

Speaking to Bernama after delivering the RSoG public discourse entitled
'Leadership and Nation Building in Malaysia' here Thursday, Abdullah said that
Najib's transformation included Key Performance Indicators in the administration
and walkabout at various places in the country.

He said the prime minister also had short-term missions such as six National Key
Result Areas, namely reducing the crime rate; fighting corruption; widening
access to quality and affordable education; raising the standard of living of
the lower-income group; improving infrastructure in the rural and remote areas;
and improving public transport in the medium-term and also New Economic Policy as
the long term mission," he said.
