Finland gives EUR 9.5 million for environmental management in Laos
VIENTIANE,21 MAY (KPL) - The government of Finland has provided EUR 9.5 million to the Lao PDR for supporting the environmental management in the country.
The agreement on the grant assistance from the Finnish government was signed in Vientiane Capital on May 19 by Finnish Ambassador to Laos and Thailand, Ms. Sirpa Maenpaa, and Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office, Ms. Khempheng Pholsena.
The signing was witnessed by relevant officials of both sides.
The Environmental Management Support Project is designed to be implemented within four years 2010-2014 to promote the limitation of environmental damage caused by construction projects, the building of factories, garbage disposal and air pollution.
