MMC'S UNIT SIGNS MOU WITH KOREA'S STX

KUALA LUMPUR, May 24 (Bernama) -- MMC Corporation Bhd's unit Senai High Tech
Park Sdn Bhd has signed a memorandum of understanding with South Korea's STX
Energy Co Ltd (STX) for a proposed solar cell manufacturing facility at Senai
Hi-Tech Park in the southern state of Johor.

The proposed plant is subject to a feasibility study, MMC said in a filing
to Bursa Malaysia ( Malaysia's Stock Exchange) Monday.

Senai High Tech Park is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Senai Airport Terminal
Services Sdn Bhd, which in turn is a wholly-owned subsidiary of MMC.

Under the MoU, a plot of land will be leased at the park for the proposed
manufacturing facility.

STX, a subsidiary of STX Corporation, has the proprietary rights and the
relevant technology to produce solar cells and has the capabilities to supply,
install and maintain the solar modules to the solar farms.

STX Corporation specialises in shipbuilding, machineries, shipping, trading,
plant construction and energy businesses.
