IMF STUDYING PROGRAM TO RAISE YEMEN'S POTENTIAL RESOURCES
SANA'A, May 24 (Saba) - International Monetary Fund (IMF) is studying currently a program to raise Yemen's potential resources.
The statement was made by the head of the IMF delegation, visiting Yemen currently, Hassan al-Atrash during his meeting with the Central Bank of Yemen (CBY) Mohammed Bin Hamam.
Al-Atrash said the program would by discussed during the meetings of the Yemen's Friends Group scheduled for June in the German capital, Berlin.
The IMF is ready to offer the financial and technical assistance to support Yemen's efforts to carry out reforms, the IMF official said, voicing his understanding to the financial and economic challenges Yemen faces.
Hamam briefed al-Atrash on the economic developments Yemen has achieved, valuing the IMF aid to Yemen's efforts to implement the different stages of the economic reform program.
Hamam discussed with al-Atrash the proposals that would be integrated in the reform program supported by IMF, WB and development partners.
They also reviewed the banking sector's developments and challenges, in addition to the possibility of the IMF to support CBY technically, especially in domain of payment system.
