SPEAKER RECEIVES CANADIAN DELEGATION


Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ Parliament Speaker D.Demberel received Monday a delegation headed by Mrs. Maria Barrados, a president of the Public Service Commission of Canada (PSCC). The sides shared views on the ties and collaboration between public service bodies of the countries.
The Speaker expressed his satisfaction with deepening of the Mongolia-Canada relations and cooperation that are reaching a level of strategic partnership. He said Mongolia always thanks Canadian state organizations and people for rendering assistance to Mongolia in times of transferring to the market relations. He spoke about state policy on refining upon legal basis of public service, separating state service from politics, corruption and bureaucracy, improving public service's quality and sufficiency.
Mrs. Barrados thanked Speaker for the audience and introduced to him the PSCC's function and activities. She said that a president of the PSCC is appointed by parliament. The president is in charge of all appointments related to public service. As for structure, the PSCC has headquarters, branches in states and a public service school. The obligation of the PSCC is to submit its reports to parliament and to receive guidelines. Although parliament approves general legal principles for the commission, it independently makes decisions on implementation of the principles.
