ALTANKHUYAG AND MISHARIN MEET


Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The First Deputy Premier and head of the Mongolian side of the Mongolia-Russia Intergovermental Commission N.Altankhuyag and the Governor of Russia's Sverdlovskaya oblast Mr. Misharin À.Ñ. have focused on many issues of the bilateral ties. The visit is running at invitation of Mr. Altankhuyag.
At this official meeting , held May 24, Altankhuyag congratulated Mr. Misharin for taking up the Governor office noting that this visit has an importance in elevating the regional ties and collaboration into a newer level. "Our countries have many centuries' historical relations and cooperation, in which an important role is attributed to the regional and border ties and cooperation. Apart of this, the regional trade accounts for 70 percent of the total trade volume between the two countries. It makes us wish to more strengthen the relations with Russia and to expand old traditional ties with her," he said.
"Sverdlovskaya oblast with its well developed mining sector has a rich experience in preparing related specialists. In exploiting big mineral deposits Mongolia is faced with a requrement to prepare skillful cadres, that is why we want to cooperate with Your side in this direction. I can assure You that out Government is ready to assist a cooperation established between Mongolia and the Russian Sverdlovskaya oblast," he said.
In response, the Governor Misharin said an expansion of the regional collaboration ties is important in refreshing the Mongolia-Russia relashionship that had weakened since 1990. "Our oblast is interested in such a cooperation as mining heavy machinery and equipment supply, cadres training, joint actions in defence, health, energy and apartments construction spheres," he said.
Mr. Misharin put forward some proposals such as establishing ties between Ulaanbaatar and Ekaterinburg, letting the Russian side participate in erecting 5th power plant, organizing meeting of the Intergovermental Commission in Ekaterinburg.
The sides also agreed to draw a special attention to boosting a cooperation in agriculture and mining sectors, in expanding ties between private spheres of the two countries in particular.
