Court upholds verdict in Iran-linked cell case
SANA'A, May 25 (Saba) – The
Specialized Penal Court upheld on Tuesday the verdict against Iran spy cell in
Yemen, sentencing
two of the group to death. The court during the hearing chaired by Judge Muhammad
al-Hakimi acquitted the third member of the group.
The two were convicted of contacting Iranians illegally and handing them documents
that contained information about the Yemeni defense, security and economic
conditions.
They met with the cultural attaché at the Iranian Embassy in Sana'a harming the
political and diplomatic position of Yemen, the court ruled.
