Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ A "Duo Alterno" from Italy will give performance in the State AcademicTheatre for Opera and Ballet in the city May 28.
The duo--Tiziana Scandaletti, soprano, and Riccardo Piacentini, pianist-composer--is considered as one of the most significative references in the vocal-piano repertoire (Chamber Lyric) from the early XXth century to living composers. Since its debut in 1997 at Vancouver, it has brought contemporary Italian music in over 30 countries. Defined as "the inventive Duo" by the Globe and Mail and "an electric experience" by the Hindu Chennai, Duo Alterno has recorded 16 CDs, 4 monographic CDs and the CD La voce crepuscolare - Notturni e Serenate del 900 (Stradivarius 2010).
Its experimental research on "photo-music with photo-sounds" has led to the production of 6 CDs of sound effects for museum exhibitions. Many Italian composers, including Ennio Morricone, have written pieces for soprano Scandaletti and composer-pianist Piacentini.
