Nayobay Bank releases over 3.9 billion kip loan to three northern provinces

(KPL) Nayobay Bank (policy-oriented bank) in Oudomxay province has provided over 3.9 billion kip for various types of agricultural activities in three northern provinces.

The three northern provinces are Bokeo, Luang Namtha and Phongsaly. The money will finance the cultivation of three food crops such as rice, maizeand tea.

Two billion kip will be utilised for rice planting on 1,474 ha in 30villages.

Four hundred and eighty million kip were allocated for maize cultivation on 152 ha. Around 140 families who reside in eight villages will be involved init.

As for tea, 1.5 billion kip had been allocated for its cultivation and 725 families will grow this crop on 533.2 ha. The main objective of this loan tothe three provinces is to reduce poverty of Lao ethnic people.
