IOM praises Yemen policies in receiving refugees

GENEVA, May 26 (Saba)- Permanent Representative of Yemen to the European Headquarters of the United Nations Ibrahim al-Adoufi
held talks on Wednesday with the Director General of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) William Swing over the current cooperation fields between Yemen and the Organization.

The IOM official praised efforts and policies adopted by Yemen with regard to
receiving Somali and other refugees as well as providing help and support for them
despite
of the huge cost on Yemen resulting from this move.
He announced the appointment of an international expert in the field of migration
in the Organization office in Yemen.
The meeting discussed the possibilities to insert new programs for cooperation with
Yemen and the region, specially supporting programs of the Yemeni community
colleges
in order to qualify the Yemeni cadres.
For his part, al-Adoufi invited the IOM Director General, Swing, to visit Yemen in
spring.
